The day started off good. Calm conditions and the fish seemed willing to chew.
We got a Snook within the first few minutes of fishing, things looked promising. As the trip progressed, we got a large variety of fish and Jason even got to throw the fly rod a little. With nothing willing to take the fly, we switched back to spinning gear. That’s where we made our mistakes. Jeason was excited about photographing all of his fish so he could show his daughter when he got back to the condo. When he landed a Jack, he laid the rod on the deck and accidentally kicked it overboard. The line got caught in the trolling motor and the rod tip got eaten by the minnkota.
For the record, I have been using these TFO Tactical Series spinning rods for almost 2 years now and haven’t encountered a single issue. I can’t blame this one on the rod and accidents do happen. This is why I buy rods with a no questions asked lifetime warranty!
Looking forward to fishing with you next year Jason! Next time we’ll try to break the rod on a huge Snook!
