Huge Tarpon caught in tiny Ormond Beach creek

If you have been following my posts, you might remember little Maleeya.  I mentioned I would post a photo of her other big catch shortly and now is the time.  About 30 minutes into the charter, 7 year old Maleeya hooked into a fish of a lifetime!  The Tarpon went airborne immediately and I knew in an instant this wasn’t going to be a run of the mill fight.  The fish ran hard so I cranked the troller to full blast and followed as Maleeya hung on with all her might.  25 minutes of vicious leaps and runs and we actually got the fish boatside for a quick picture before a smooth release.

Its not often a 7 yr old lands a fish of this caliber on medium action, 10# test tackle.  What a way to start the day!
